THE ICAHD-USA PERSPECTIVE
The Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions has long advocated a global view of the Israeli Occupation, particularly with regard to what we call “Palestinianization.” Palestine has become a laboratory and global model for “security” regimes around the world that seek to suppress civil protest and “pacify” unwanted populations. We understand Israel’s ongoing Occupation as part of this global process, and we view Israel as one of its significant leaders.
As partners in the global struggle for equality, freedom and justice for the Palestinian people, ICAHD-USA investigates the ways capitalism creates the conditions for racialized displacement in Palestine-Israel as well as the United States. We seek to raise awareness of the close collaboration between the Israeli and American governments in their policies of displacing communities of color and suppressing all resistance to the violence of dispossession.
Embracing the 2005 Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions against Israel, ICAHD-USA is now expanding its work from supporting grassroots resistance on the ground in Palestine-Israel, to deepening its cutting edge global advocacy and analysis, with a focus on the United States.
Our work is grounded in the conviction that the ongoing dispossession of the Palestinian people undermines the possibility of a viable, stable, and peaceful homeland for Palestinians and Israelis alike.
